Getting his goat
Did you hear the one about the man who turned his chickens into a goat? It’s no joke. Ask Thawara Pargi and he’ll tell you it’s possible.

Thawara turned his chickens into a goat.

Thawara was one of 60 people who received poultry from Banswara ADP in September 2002, to sustain family incomes during a drought period.
Thawara was grateful to World Vision and took good care of the birds, making sure that they were regularly fed and vaccinated.
After seven months, Thawara sold the chickens for Rs.1200/- (about $NZ40). He had long had a dream of owning a goat, and the sale enabled him to buy one. Now his family enjoy milk from their goat.
At a recent Village Development Committee meeting, Thawara urged people to take proper care of the poultry World Vision gave them. If by doing so he had managed to make his own dream come true, maybe they could too!
